The Cuyahoga County Home Repair Loan Program helps eligible homeowners in Cuyahoga County maintain HUD property standards of safe, sanitary and decent housing. Eligible homeowners can receive a loan up to $20,000 for repairs.
About the Program
The program is open and available to any HOMEOWNER who lives in Cuyahoga County and meets the following guidelines:
Has an income that is at or below 80% of area medium income (AMI) for the county based on family size (see income chart in brochure)
Lives in one of the 51 eligible municipalities in Cuyahoga County (see list in brochure)
Is current on county real estate taxes, or is currently in a payment plan
Eligible Home Repairs
The program is designed to assist eligible homeowners to make repairs that would bring a home closer to compliance with the county’s “decent, safe and sanitary” guidelines. Examples of some of those repairs may include the following:
Roofing, plumbing, electrical and HVAC
Exterior painting, porches, stairs, gutters, walks and driveways
Loans / Grants
The maximum loan size for your repairs will be up to $20,000.
Loans to approved customers will be made in the form of a 0% deferred mortgage and will only be due for repayment upon resale of the property.
Approved customers who currently receive a Homestead Exemption on their real estate taxes will have their 0% deferred mortgage forgiven after 5 years.

Step 3: Download, print and fill out the program's application.
Step 4: Return your completed application to CHN.
